Indian Prawns Roast Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500 gm shelled and deveined prawns
  • 2 tablespoons red chili powder

  • 10 cloves garlic finely chopped

  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 inch ginger finely chopped
  • 
25 shallots finely sliced
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 2 sprigs curry leaves
  • 5 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 
1 tomato diced

Instructions

  1. Combine the prawns and the turmeric powder.
  2. Followed by 1 tablespoon chili powder.
  3. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  4. Add lime juice.
  5. Combine them well and set them aside for 30 minutes.
  6. Slice the shallots, garlic, ginger and tomato.
  7. Heat up a pan on medium-high heat and drizzle in the oil.
  8. Add the prawns.
  9. Roast the prawns in medium flame, frying each side for 4 minutes.
  10. Take the prawns out of the pan and set them aside.
  11. Add the diced ginger and garlic into the pan. Stir it together.
  12. Add the sliced shallots.
  13. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  14. Add 1 tablespoon chili powder and saute until the raw flavor settles.
  15. Add the diced tomato and stir to combine.
  16. Add 1/2 cup of hot water into the mixture and cook until the tomato is done.
  17. Add the roasted prawns into the mixture.
  18. Sprinkle the curry leaves.
  19. Cover the mixture and cook it for 2 minutes on medium flame.
  20. Open and cook until the water evaporates completely.
  21. Serve the prawns nice and hot with rice.
