Verbio

Verbio is one of the leading, independent bioenergy producers and also the only large-scale industrial producer of biodiesel, bioethanol and biomethane in Europe. Verbio relies on innovative technologies developed in-house.

Verbio’s biofuels achieve CO2 savings of up to 90 percent compared to gasoline or diesel. In addition, Verbio produces biofertilizers and animal feeds as well as high-quality raw materials for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries. With its innovative processes and highly efficient production facilities, Verbio is one of the technology leaders in the biofuel market.

According to preliminary figures, Verbio achieved an EBITDA of approx. 167 million euros and sales of approx. 1 billion euros in the financial year 2021. Net financial assets increased to approx. 80 million euros as of June 30, 2021.

Key success factors for the renewed record result were good margins of CO2-efficient biodiesel and ethanol and the strong increase in demand for advanced biomethane.

In August, Verbio signed a Memorandum of Understanding with India’s largest integrated and diversified energy company, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. In the next step, Verbio and IndianOil will evaluate the economic feasibility of further biorefineries in India. This will lay the foundation of a joint venture between the two energy companies.

The objective is to effectively combine Verbio’s patented technology in the construction and operation of biorefineries with the commercialization via the IndianOil network.

Furthermore, the Federation of German Industries (BDI) has awarded Verbio with the Axia Best Managed Companies Award in 2021. The award stands for innovative, successful and exemplary managed medium-sized companies.

The stock skyrocketed more than 960% in five years.
